Quickstart

info

This document is a quickstart guide for the LOB-GW-DINRAIL-HYB-WMBUS-C.

For the general product description, refer to the main product page.

Intended Use

This product is intended for reading and forwarding data from compatible wireless M-Bus devices via cellular communication (NB-IoT / LTE-M).

In addition to the unidirectional wireless M-Bus modes C1, T1 and S1, the gateway also supports the proprietary radio protocols Sensus RF and Müller RF.

The received meter data can be transferred to the Lobaro IoT Platform, optionally encrypted via DTLS, where it can be viewed and retrieved. Integration with third-party downstream systems is possible via standardized APIs provided by the Lobaro platform.

warning

The device is intended exclusively for the purpose described above. Any other use or modification of the gateway is considered improper use and requires prior written approval.

How It Works

  1. The gateway remains in energy-saving mode most of the time.
  2. At configurable times defined by CRON parameters, the device wakes up.
  3. Encrypted or unencrypted 868 MHz wireless M-Bus telegrams are received for the configured listening duration and stored unchanged in internal memory.
  4. Reception can be restricted using filters for specific device IDs, types or CI fields.
  5. After the configured time period, wireless collection stops again.
  6. The collected data is transmitted via NB-IoT or LoRaWAN to a downstream IoT platform.
  7. The platform can optionally decrypt the consumption data using stored keys.
  8. Meter values or telegrams are then available in table view, as CSV download, or via standardized APIs.
