Firmware
Lobaro gateways run modular firmware that is shared across hardware variants. The same firmware binary can power multiple product variants — the hardware add-on board and configuration determine the active functions. This approach keeps firmware maintenance centralized and ensures all variants receive the same updates and security fixes.
Current Firmware
app-nrf91-origin
The app-nrf91-origin firmware powers all current Gateway V4 products. It is actively maintained and the standard firmware for all new Lobaro gateways.
It covers wireless M-Bus readout, cellular uplink (NB-IoT / LTE-M via CoAP and MQTT), LoRaWAN, and all add-on modules (Modbus, wired M-Bus, 1-Wire, 4-20 mA, …).
app-nrf91-origin evolved from the older app-nrf9160-wmbus firmware and was redesigned around a more modular add-on architecture when the Gateway V4 hardware platform was introduced.
As Lobaro's product portfolio grows, additional active firmware variants will be added here — for example for the Gateway V4 + Edge platform.
Legacy Firmware
The following firmware versions are no longer actively developed. Documentation is maintained for existing customers only.

| app-nrf9160-wmbus | Wireless M-Bus Gateway V3, V2, DIN-Rail, Solar — predecessor of app-nrf91-origin, replaced with the introduction of the Gateway V4 |
| app-hybrid-modbus | Hybrid Industrial Gateways (Modbus / M-Bus DIN-Rail) |
